Do you want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life for a while? Or connect with your inner self and embrace the serenity?
Discover STILTS resort in Calatagan, Batangas.
The stunning white sand paradise and the iconic floating cottages above pristine water have perfect setting to escape the bustling city and simply enjoy the magical sunset.
Batangas is a province in the Philippines located in the southern part of Luzon. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations near Metro Manila. Calatagan is approximately 2 hours and 50 minutes away from Manila. You can even take the buses that depart every hour. I am always interested and fascinated with the tree houses and nature. These inspire me when I search for a resort in Batangas, and surprisingly, STILTS Calatagan Beach Resort showed up.
How to Get There:
You can ride a bus going to Calatagan. We chose DLTB, the bus terminal is located in Buendia near LRT station. It stops at Calatagan station and you only need to ride a tricycle going to STILTS. You can haggle with the tricycle driver to give you the total fare to and fro. Just inform them your check-out time.
STILTS is famous for its water bungalows
But this is not the only amazing experience they can offer. I would also recommend to stay at the resort during lean season to avoid the crowd. Unfortunately, we visited the resort during long holidays, hence, the tree houses were not available so we rather stayed in a bungalow. It is located near the parking space, the room was big and can even accommodate up to four persons. It has everything you need: water dispenser, refrigerator, dining table and mini sofa. Accommodation includes buffet breakfast.
I was amazed with the inspirational quotes that you can spot everywhere. The place is perfect if you want tranquility or rediscover nature. I enjoyed sitting in a hammock under the mango tree, it’s very relaxing. Take a walk at the beach, experience their big swimming pool, or get stunned with the verdant surroundings. You will definitely revel in the quietude.
We started our day exploring the resorts and the beach. At night we opted to swim at the big swimming pool – strictly follow the swimming attire; cotton shirts and shorts are not allowed.
We had seafood dinner at the resort’s restaurant, the food was great at a reasonable price.
On our next day we had an early walk and we were fascinated by the Mango and Chico trees that are in season during that time. Lay down and rest in the hammock while watching birds and listening to the sound of the wind chimes that hanged in every tree. We then lingered at the water bungalow again to unwind before hitting the big swimming pool for the last time.
It feels good to have a quick getaway together with my sisters. We truly enjoyed our short vacation without hitting our budget. The place and the setting somehow remind me of our Magical Maldives escape.
